Live music & entertainment this weekend in and near Northern New Jersey, September 6th – 7th

A Light Divided is going all in with their new album, “Choose Your Own Adventure.” The disc was released in October and the band just finished an extensive, regional U.S. tour. The group is hoping “Choose Your Own Adventure” will be their breakthrough album, and there’s certainly reason to be optimistic.

Among the new albums I’ve been spinning lately is the excellent sophomore effort by heavy rockers Audiotopsy. “The Real Now”, which was released on Nov. 2, is a refreshing album stocked with crunchy, piercing, groove-laden riffs and rhythms, urgent vocals, and big choruses.

John Lodge live is all of the above and more, as evidenced on his recent live album and DVD, “Live from Birmingham: The 10,000 Light Years Tour.” You definitely don’t want to miss the Moody Blues’ legendary bass player’s show on Oct. 17 at the City Winery in New York City.

LiveKill assaults the senses musically while challenging listeners lyrically. It’s a combination that works well for the rising Florida band who mix metal with hardcore elements. LiveKill’s impressive debut EP, “Turned to Grey,” was released on Sept. 28.
